Multispectral-Acoustic Fusion
Three-Modal Field Intelligence
Single-sensor drone payloads miss threats that only become visible when signals from different modalities are cross-correlated. The MAT-RTFH engine (M218) fuses NDVI/NDRE multispectral channels, MEMS-derived wingbeat frequency spectra, and calibrated thermal deviation into a single chain-hashed record per grid cell — enabling decisions that no individual sensor can support alone.

How it works
Sensor Ingestion
Multispectral, acoustic, and thermal readings are submitted per grid cell. Each channel is validated individually before fusion proceeds.
Weighted Fusion
A transparent, declared weight vector combines the three signals into a unified field intelligence score for the cell. The weight vector is stored in the ledger record alongside the raw channel values.
Chain-Hash Record
The fused record is written to the audit ledger with a SHA-256 chain hash. Downstream engines — IPM decision, trophic forecast — consume the fused record via structured output.
Standards we follow
- STD-01
NIST FIPS 180-4 — Secure Hash Standard (SHA-256 chain hash)
- STD-02
EPPO PM 1 — Pest Risk Taxonomy (species identifiers for acoustic match layer)

Frequently asked questions
What happens if one sensor channel is unavailable during a pass?
Partial-modal records are flagged as incomplete in the ledger and downstream engines receive the missing-modality flag. The platform does not silently promote a partial record to a full fusion score — this fail-closed behaviour prevents decisions based on incomplete evidence.
